Bob's Story

In 1994, Bob was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He tried treating his spasticity with oral medication, but when even the maximum dose didn’t alleviate the spasms, he became unsure if anything could manage his severe spasticity.

Julie's Story

When Julie experienced the onset of her multiple sclerosis in 1987, "I thought the trouble was just fatigue." Julie tried various treatments for her severe spasticity. Physical therapy and muscle injections helped occasionally, but her muscles would quickly tighten back up.

Diana's Story

Since receiving a Medtronic pump for her severe spasticity due to multiple sclerosis, Diana no longer needs a cane to assist her in walking. She has gotten back to doing the things that she loves: gardening, camping, and accompanying her husband to disc-golf tournaments.

Cindy's Story

Cindy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1980. By the mid-1980s, "I was very spastic. My hands and feet were contracted, and I was totally dependent," she says. Eventually, Cindy was referred to a neurosurgeon.
