Getting a Pacemaker
Medtronic's first pacemaker came out in 1957. Today, implanting a pacemaker is usually quick, and typically done under local anaesthesia. It does not require open-heart surgery, and most people go home within 24 hours, ready to begin their recovery and resume a more active life.
