Medtronic pacemakers continuously monitor the heart to treat bradycardia (a slow, irregular, or interrupted heartbeat). If a pacemaker detects a rhythm problem, it will send out small, undetectable electrical signals to correct it to restore the heart to a more normal rate.
For Bradycardia (Slow Heartbeat)
Bradycardia is a slow heartbeat, usually fewer than 60 beats per minute. At this rate, the heart is not able to pump enough oxygen-rich blood to your body during normal activity or exercise. As a result, you may feel dizzy or have chronic lack of energy, shortness of breath, or even fainting spells. A Medtronic pacemaker sends electrical signals to help restore the heart’s rhythm and help you feel better.
SureScan™ is the first world’s pacing system which allows patients with pacemakers to safely receive full body Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans under specific conditions.
